The Days After Thanksgiving

It has been sooo nice having a 5-day weekend. As I said last night, I convinced David to sleep in and run a little later 🙂 Here is the Santa-hat runner running along the Bayou:

Then through the Heights:

We ended up with a 5 or 6 mile run, but couldn’t tell since David’s Garmin was out (and was driving him crazy the whole time!). I put on the 20-min. Yoga for Runners from, and loved it! David even did it with me. Post-run was a delicious Pumpkin Smoothie:

1/2 Banana
1/4 c. Pumpkin Puree
1 c. Silk Egg Nog Soy Milk
Healthy dose of Cinnamon
Couple sprinkles of Pumpkin Spice
Topped with Pecans

Some other eventful items of the day were selling my couches through Craigslist, O.D.-ing on sugar cookies, decorating the mini-Christmas tree, and icing and eating leftover lasagna for the 3rd time (still just as yummy!).

And yes, it is noted that the cookie icing looks like dog poop 😦  It’s my first attempt at using a ziploc for icing, that’s my excuse!

David was impressed by how long the lasagna lasted (sorry I don’t have a picture!!). Here is the breakdown (* denotes organic):

Lasagna W/W Noodles $0.70
Cottage Cheese 2%* $3.99
Mozzarella Cheese $4.49
Parmesan Cheese $1.50
Zucchini & Squash* $1.00
Spinach* $1.00
Pasta Sauce* $3.49
Sundried Tomatoes $1.00
Basil* $0.30
Divided by 9 = $1.94/meal

Arugula $3.00
Cucumbers $2.00
Tomatoes $1.50
Carrots $2.00
Divided by 9 = $0.95/meal

So an awesome, almost organic 9 meals for only $3.00! Who says organic can’t be cheap?! Vote with your dollars!
